Friday

Rain, oh so much rain!

Good morning ev'ryone!

Friday morning that is, and a good morning it is indeed!

Our little fairy has done her magic already, the apartment is sparkling clean, the soft sounds of "Air" linger through the room, I am lazily placed on the bed, and force-fed some juicy grapes...whilst writing this.

Rather interesting, those last couple of days! Interesting and very, very wet! We had constant tropical rain since Wednesday, which I find lovely, as it still has an estimated 24C outside!

I did my first dive on Wednesday, and two more yesterday. The rain has given us some great visibility underwater, and I thoroughly enjoyed those dives! The new equipment is perfect, and I look really forward to diving here for the next two months! Yesterday afternoon I saw a ray, many stone fishes and moray eels, crayfish, lots of Nemos, lion fish, scorpion fish, and a big, very grumpy octopus...Man, I know I have dated worse - but that one was ugly!

Orca is a good school, as far as I can tell, very chilled but switched on. The water is pretty cold down there, so no way around a 5mm wetsuit, I am afraid. I have started my Nitrox course (well, I have unwrapped the course book), and Silvia has studied Chapter I of the Open Water Course - we are on top of things!

Being stuck at home in really torrential rain made my Silvia a little claustrophobic yesterday, whilst I was looking for Neptun - so she had to comfort herself by exploring the amenities of the local spa "Chi", which gladly helped her to forget the weather for a couple of apperently very soothing hours. Admittedly, it would be rude not to indulge on those, as the prices here a really a fraction of what it costs in Europe...Therefore I am sure they have not seen the last of my girl there ;-)

Last night Silvia was in party mood, encouraged by the local (€2 per bottle) and surprisingly pleasant Mauritian rum, so she whirled around the room for hours, dressed in nighty and high heels, sweating heavily in a 100% humidity - whilst the aging neighbours had to recharge their pacemakers to survive.

According to the local weather forecast weather is supposed to turn on Sunday, bringing us our well-deserved sunshine back, finally!

So far, so good - laters!
